Most apps want everything from you — your attention, your data, your subscription, your habits. The deal is usually one-way: they take, you tolerate. Marmot-Apps started because we wanted the inverse — apps that quietly support what you've already lived, instead of asking for more of it.
That means picking a corner of daily life — a voice meeting, a stack of paper, the body's cycle, a passage of Scripture, a room you're planning to redo — and building an app that actually solves it. No second-guessing whether the AI is earning its keep. No buried permissions. No "engagement loops."
The shape of the studio reflects the principle: small team, no outside investors, built on Apple silicon, shipped at our own cadence. If you've ever opened an app and felt like it was working for you instead of on you — that's the standard we aim for.

No React Native, no Flutter, no Electron. The apps are SwiftUI from launch screen to settings, so they look, feel, and update like Apple's own.
Whisper transcription on the phone, Vision OCR on the phone, cycle math on the phone. AI features that need a server route through a private proxy that doesn't retain prompts or files.
No Firebase, no Mixpanel, no Sentry, no analytics. The only data we see is what Apple's App Store Connect shows every developer — anonymous, aggregated.
No outside capital, no board, no pressure to harvest attention. The apps live as long as the subscriptions sustain them — which means they're built to be kept, not flipped.
We work the way a small workshop works. One person owns each app end-to-end — design, code, copy, support email. There's no marketing department generating screenshots; the screenshots come from the working product. There's no growth team optimizing the funnel; the funnel is "you read the page, you decide."
That posture cuts both ways. We move slower than a venture-backed AI app startup, and we can't compete on "150 features per quarter" velocity. What we can do is build apps that still work the way they did the day you installed them, three years later — same icon, same shortcuts, same data layout. Apple's own apps work that way. Ours try to.
